從年金問題、核四議題，再到兩岸服貿協議的爭議，社會至今無法有共識。前民進黨主席蔡英文呼籲政府召開國是會議，總統府則拋出「馬蔡會」搪塞。前行政院長謝長廷8日晚間表示，他建議蔡英文不必計較身段或委屈，為人民跨出步伐，赴約會談，促成國是會議，解決人民痛苦。
據了解，謝長廷8日下午前往小英教育基金會，親自拜會蔡英文，當場建議蔡英文與馬英九見面會談，解決問題；蔡英文回答說，國是會議非黨對黨，也非為個人利益，若有助於國是會議的召開，她願意與馬英九見面會談。
謝長廷晚間在噗浪表示，蔡英文要求召開國是會議，馬英九回應將邀她到總統府會談，看似各說各話。
謝長廷說，現在台灣民衆充滿悲觀焦慮，如果蔡馬兩位總統競選對手願意見面，對談問題和解決之道，應有助於民心穩定，建議蔡英文不必計較身段或委屈，為人民跨出步伐，赴約會談，促成國是會議，解決人民痛苦。
