HTC One max配備指紋辨識功能，和iPhone 5S的有什麼不同呢？（攝影／記者甘偉中）

宏達電在14日全球正式發表首支大螢幕手機HTC One max，除了配備5.9吋高畫質大螢幕之外，還新增了指紋辨識、雙鏡頭拍攝、塗鴉、BlinkFeed介面升級，以及Video Highlights自訂背景音樂等功能，而其中最受注目的便是指紋辨識了。
自iPhone 5S發表以來，指紋辨識成了手機粉絲們關注的話題之一。因為智慧型手機用戶，每天會頻繁的做「解鎖」這個動作，指紋辨識可以大大簡化這個過程，讓操作更為便利，因而成為關注焦點。
HTC One max的指紋辨識器和iPhone 5S的不同，並非設定在Home鍵上，而是在手機背部中央，約為握著手機時，食指剛好碰觸到的位置。
▲ HTC One max的指紋辨識可以記錄最多3個不同的指紋，來執行不同的功能（圖片取自／手機截圖）HTC表示辨識依據也並非靠指紋資料，而是「指紋下滑的特徵」，因此只要感應到一半的指紋即可，約為指尖前1/2的部份。手機並不會保存使用者的指紋資料，而是「指紋下滑的特徵」，這個特徵會經過運算，加密儲存在手機系統區中，一般App無法存取的地方。
HTC未來有計劃推出指紋辨識功能的API，讓第三方廠商可利用開發相關App，不過開發者仍然無法存取儲存在手機內的特徵資料。
HTC One max的指紋辨識，跟一般解鎖的動作是一樣的功能，因此也必須在螢幕亮起來的時候才有作用。在螢幕關閉時，無法做一般的解鎖行為，因此指紋辨識也會沒有作用。
